Your tills, your waiters' phones and the kitchen screen all work on a single database that sits in your shop, not in the cloud, not on someone else's server.
One computer holds the database: products, stock, prices, sales and staff. It is the machine that stays on, and everything else simply connects to it.
Your local network · no internet needed

Extra checkout stations join over your own network, by cable or Wi-Fi. A sale rung up on one till shows on all of them straight away, and the stock count follows.

Your waiter takes the order at the table from a phone browser. Nothing to install, no app store, and nothing to type again at the counter.

Orders appear in the kitchen the moment they are sent, on any phone or tablet browser. No paper tickets, no slips lost between the room and the pass.
The database is on your own PC. If the internet drops, and it does, the tills, the phones and the kitchen keep working.
Take Pro as a lifetime licence: no fee per till, no yearly renewal, no bill that grows with your turnover. Prefer monthly? Buy a key only for the months you need.
Start with one till today. Add a second station, the waiters' phones and the kitchen screen when the business is ready: same app, same data.
Multi-terminal, the handheld app and the kitchen app are included in the Pro licence.

What store owners told us after switching to BelloPOS.
Even when the internet drops, BelloPOS keeps selling and printing receipts. Our counter never stops, and that is exactly what I needed.
I installed it myself in one afternoon. The barcode scanner and the receipt printer worked straight away, no technician needed.
Paying once instead of every month made the choice easy. And the free updates keep bringing features we actually use.
Now I know exactly what is in stock and which customers still owe me money. It saves me time every single day.

What each module does, the screens it uses, and the questions merchants ask about it.
The till screen your staff will actually use: one tap per item, one second per payment, and nothing waiting on a connection.
Every sale and every delivery moves the count, so what the screen says is what is actually on the shelf.
Any scanner works out of the box, and anything without a barcode gets one you print yourself.
A thermal ticket for the queue, a proper PDF invoice for the customer who asks, both out of the same sale.
Know who is in front of you, what they bought last time, and the details their next invoice needs.
Set the limit before the sale, follow every debit and payment, and hand the customer a statement that adds up.
Record what arrived and what you paid, then let stock, cost prices and supplier history update together.
What sold, what earned, who sold it and what to order next, without exporting anything to a spreadsheet.
The floor, the pass and the bill on one system, still running when the line goes down mid service.
A phone left for repair, a haircut booked for 10 o'clock, a leak to fix at a customer's: one ticket per job, one number, nothing lost.
Not an offline mode that catches up later: the software simply runs where your shop is.
One PC holds the data, the other terminals talk to it over your own network, and nothing leaves the building.
Everyone gets their own login, each role gets exactly the buttons it should have, and the history says who did what.
Most New Zealand counters run the same way: a queue, an EFTPOS terminal from the bank, a few regulars who pay at the end of the week, and a connection that cuts out at the worst moment. BelloPOS is a POS system for NZ businesses that does not depend on the cloud. The till, your product list and every sale live on your own computer, so a fibre outage in Hamilton or a patchy rural connection outside Tauranga never stops you selling. Ring up a flat white and a scone, scan a bottle of milk, or weigh a bag of mince, and the receipt prints straight away.
You keep the EFTPOS terminal you already have. BelloPOS records each payment as EFTPOS, payWave, credit card, cash or account, so the end-of-day totals match your terminal settlement and your bank deposit. Start with the free Lite plan, which never expires, then move to Go, Pro or Pro+ when you need purchasing, a second till, table service or the handheld order app. Paid plans are a one-time licence, or a monthly or yearly key with no automatic renewal, and the pricing page shows every amount in NZ dollars.
These are the Inland Revenue basics most counters run into. Each point links to the official IRD page, which is the source to follow if anything has changed.
Inland Revenue says you must register for GST if you carry on a taxable activity and your turnover was at least $60,000 in the last 12 months, or you expect it to be in the next 12. You can register voluntarily below that. BelloPOS sales reports show your turnover over any period, which helps you keep an eye on that threshold.
ird.govt.nzIRD lists the GST rate as 15%. Once you are registered, you add GST to your prices and pass it on to Inland Revenue. In BelloPOS you set the tax on each product or category, and the GST appears on receipts and invoices, so the figures for your GST return come from your actual sales rather than a guess.
ird.govt.nzFor a sale of $200 or less, IRD's taxable supply information rules ask for the seller's name or trade name, the date, a description of the goods or services, and the amount paid. No buyer details are needed. A BelloPOS receipt with your business name in the header and each item listed carries this information by default.
ird.govt.nzAbove $200, the information must also show your GST number and either the GST amount or a statement that the price includes GST. Above $1,000, a GST-registered buyer's name and one identifier, such as an address, email or NZBN, are added. You must supply it within 28 days of a request. BelloPOS invoices can carry your GST number and the customer's details.
ird.govt.nzIRD lists cash register and point-of-sale records among the records a business should keep, and says records of all cash and electronic sales and purchases must be kept for 7 years. BelloPOS keeps your sales on your own computer, lets you export invoices and runs automatic backups, so you can produce those records when your accountant or IRD asks.
ird.govt.nzThe Government has legislated to ban surcharges on most in-store card payments, including EFTPOS and contactless, with a target of May 2026. We have not confirmed the final scope or start date. Check the current rules with your bank or accountant before you add a card fee at the counter. Online payments and foreign cards were reported as excluded.
legislation.govt.nzBelloPOS is not certified or approved by Inland Revenue or any other authority, and this page is general information, not tax advice. Check how the rules apply to your business with your accountant or with IRD.
BelloPOS does not process cards and takes no cut of your sales. Customers pay on your own bank terminal or in cash, and BelloPOS records the payment method so your totals add up at close.
BelloPOS is not connected to your EFTPOS terminal: you key the amount into the terminal and record the payment in BelloPOS. Your bank or terminal provider sets the card fees.
Long hours, one counter and hundreds of small sales: milk, bread, pies, drinks and top-ups. The owner scans everything with a USB barcode scanner, prints labels for the lollies they bag themselves, and sees which lines sell out before the next cash-and-carry run. When the fibre drops on a Sunday night, the till keeps working and nothing has to be written on paper.
The 7.30am rush on Lambton Quay wants speed: flat whites, long blacks and a cheese scone, one tap each. Regulars from the office upstairs run a tab settled on Friday. A second till at the cabinet, and the barista's screen showing new orders, both run from one database on the main PC. The owner checks the week's milk use against sales before ordering.
Friday night is the peak: phone orders, walk-ins and a queue out the door. Orders go from the counter to the kitchen screen, so the fryer sees each ticket the moment it is taken. Combos and extra scoops of chips are buttons, not sums done in your head, and the end-of-night report splits cash from EFTPOS for the deposit.
Hundreds of imported lines, many with foreign barcodes, plus restaurants buying rice and sauces by the carton. Retail customers pay the shelf price, while trade buyers in a wholesale price group get their own prices automatically at the till. Deliveries are scanned in against purchase orders, and the restaurant accounts settle by bank transfer against a proper invoice.
Yes. BelloPOS Lite is a free lifetime licence: no card, no sign-up and no time limit. It covers selling, receipts, barcodes and stock on one till, which is enough for many small dairies, market stalls and shops. If you later need purchasing, more than one till, table service or the handheld order app, you move up to Go, Pro or Pro+ and keep all your data. You can also turn on every Pro feature free for 7 days first.
Yes, alongside it. BelloPOS does not connect to or replace your bank's EFTPOS terminal. Your customer taps or inserts their card on the terminal as usual, and you record the sale in BelloPOS as EFTPOS, payWave or credit card. That keeps the till total and the terminal settlement side by side at the end of the day. Because BelloPOS does not process payments, it takes no fee on your sales; your bank or terminal provider sets the card fees.
Nothing changes at the counter. BelloPOS is installed on your own Windows PC, Mac or Android tablet, and your products, prices and sales are stored there, not on a remote server. You keep selling, printing receipts and taking stock off as normal. Extra tills and staff phones on the shop's local network keep working too, because they talk to the main PC, not the cloud. This matters for rural stores and for anyone who has lost a Saturday to a fibre outage.
You can set GST on each product or category, and it is shown on receipts and invoices, which can carry your business name and GST number. Sales reports give you totals for any period to pass to your accountant. BelloPOS is not certified or approved by Inland Revenue, and it does not file your GST return. Check how IRD's taxable supply information and record-keeping rules apply to your business with your accountant.
Prices are shown in NZ dollars on the pricing page. Go, Pro and Pro+ are sold as a one-time licence you own, or as a monthly or yearly key paid in advance. There is no automatic renewal: when a key ends, the app drops back to the free Lite plan with all your data intact. Orders are placed on the site and invoiced by a US company. Every purchase has a 14-day money-back guarantee.
An ordinary Windows PC or a Mac running macOS 12 or later. BelloPOS works with any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner, any 58 mm or 80 mm receipt printer and a normal A4 printer for invoices, and you can add a cash drawer and a customer display. Staff can take orders from a phone browser with the handheld app, with nothing to install. BelloPOS also runs on Android tablets (Android 7 or later).
Yes. Pro and Pro+ include the Ready-to-Sell Pack: we install BelloPOS on your computer, add your products and train your staff, done remotely so it works whether you are in Auckland, Dunedin or a small town on the West Coast. The Go plan does not include setup, but the app is simple to install yourself and the free trial lets you test it on your own counter first.
Yes, with Pro. One PC holds the database and the other tills connect to it over your shop's network, so a café with a counter and a cabinet till, or a store with two checkouts, sees one set of stock and one day's takings. The handheld app lets staff take table orders on a phone, and the kitchen screen shows new orders on any tablet. Everything keeps running without the internet.
