You set a sales tax rate on each product, and BelloPOS adds it at checkout and shows it on the receipt. That lets you charge different rates on items your state taxes differently, such as prepared food and groceries. It does not look up rates by address, keep track of rate changes or file returns for you. Check your combined state and local rate with your state revenue department or your accountant.

Yes, on the card reader you already use. BelloPOS is not a payment processor and does not connect to one. Your customer pays on your terminal, from Square, Clover, a bank or any other provider, and you record the sale in BelloPOS as card. You keep your current merchant rates, and BelloPOS never takes a percentage of your sales.

Yes. BelloPOS runs on your own Windows PC, Mac or Android tablet, so you can keep selling if your internet goes down. You only need a connection to download the app, to activate a paid plan and to use the Ares AI assistant. Your sales stay on your device and are not sent to the cloud, so make regular backups to a USB drive or let Go schedule them for you.

A Windows PC or laptop, or a Mac running macOS 12 or later. A touchscreen, a 58 mm or 80 mm thermal receipt printer, a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner and a cash drawer are useful but optional: you can start with a mouse and keyboard. Any standard printer handles full-page invoices. BelloPOS does not sell hardware, so you can buy it wherever you like. BelloPOS also runs on Android tablets (Android 7 or later).

No. BelloPOS holds no certification or government approval in any state. It is software for selling, receipts, inventory and reporting. It does not file sales tax returns, remit tax or connect to state systems. You stay responsible for registering, collecting and filing sales tax where you do business, so please check your obligations with your accountant or your state revenue department.
