BelloPOS for your trade
Free POS for convenience stores and general retail
Snacks, drinks, batteries and phone top-ups: a quick register for a shop that sells a bit of everything.
Free download for Windows · checking the latest release… · works offline

A neighborhood shop sells hundreds of small things to people in a hurry. BelloPOS rings them up with a barcode scanner or a tap on the grid, totals the basket with the right tax on each line, and prints the ticket straight away. It runs on an ordinary Windows PC or Mac and keeps selling with no internet at all.
Choose "General retail" at setup and the demo database is filled with snacks, drinks, household goods and accessories, named in your language and priced in your currency, so the shop looks like yours from the first minute. Low-stock alerts then tell you what to reorder before the shelf is empty.
What you get
Scan or tap, then pay
Any USB barcode scanner works out of the box, and items without a barcode sit one tap away on the grid.
Stock alerts
Set a minimum for each product and see what is running low before the weekend rush, not after.
Barcode labels
Print your own labels for loose or unlabelled goods, with name and price, from the same app.
Know your best sellers
Reports show what sells, what sits on the shelf and the margin on each, so you buy on numbers instead of habit.

A convenience store POS system for corner stores and small retail
Convenience stores, bodegas, smoke and vape shops, dollar stores and gift shops share the same problem: thousands of small, fast-moving items, thin margins, and a register that has to keep working from opening to close. BelloPOS turns any Windows PC or Mac into that register. Scan a UPC and the item, price and sales tax drop into the basket; print your own barcode labels for loose candy, local goods or anything without one. Inventory updates with every sale, so the reorder list for your next cash-and-carry run builds itself. Keep several baskets open when a customer steps aside to grab one more drink, and show each order on a customer-facing display at the counter.
Because there is no required monthly fee and no tie to a card processor, BelloPOS suits owner-operated stores that are tired of paying for software they barely use. Keep your card reader, record cash and card separately, and close the drawer against the day's totals. With Go, regulars can run a house account with a limit you set, and staff roles decide who may give discounts. Pro adds a second register for the morning rush, plus handheld cashier phones for line-busting. Ares, the built-in AI assistant, answers questions like "What sold most this weekend?" from your phone. Age-restricted sales such as tobacco and alcohol still follow your state and local rules: BelloPOS does not verify IDs.
How Americans pay, and how BelloPOS records it
US shoppers mostly pay by card, with contactless tap to pay growing fast, but cash still matters at corner stores and in cities that require it. BelloPOS records every payment type you take.
- Credit and debit cards, taken on your own card reader and recorded as card
- Tap to pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a contactless card, on your terminal
- Cash, with the change due worked out for you
- Personal checks, recorded as their own payment type
- Venmo, Cash App or Zelle, set up as custom payment types
- House accounts: customers who buy now and pay later, with a limit (Go and up)
- EBT/SNAP, processed on your own authorized equipment and recorded in BelloPOS
BelloPOS does not connect to a card processor or EBT network and never charges processing fees. Payments are taken on your existing terminal and recorded in BelloPOS so your daily totals match. In New York City, most stores must also accept cash.
Convenience store POS questions
Will my barcode scanner work?
Yes. Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works without drivers or setup, because scanners act like a keyboard. Scan a product's UPC to ring it up or to add it to your catalog. For items without a barcode, BelloPOS prints labels on a standard label or receipt printer, so the whole store can be scanned at the counter.
Can I run a tab for regular customers?
Yes, with Go and above. Turn on customer credit, set a limit for each regular, and BelloPOS records what they owe each time they buy on account. When they pay, you record the payment and their balance updates. You can see every outstanding balance at a glance, which beats a notebook behind the counter.
Does BelloPOS handle age verification for tobacco and alcohol?
No. BelloPOS does not scan IDs or check ages. Selling tobacco, vape products, alcohol or lottery requires following your state and local licensing rules, which your staff apply at the counter. BelloPOS records the sale like any other item. Check your licensing and ID requirements with your state agency or your accountant.
How do I keep track of stock and reorders?
Inventory goes down with every sale and up when you record a supplier delivery, with the price you paid. Low-stock reports show what to reorder before your next distributor visit or warehouse club run, and, with Go, margin reports show which products actually make you money. Ares can answer questions like "What's running low?" by text or voice.
Can two registers share one product list?
Yes, with Pro. One computer is the main register and keeps the data; other registers, and handheld cashier phones, connect to it over your store's local network. Prices, stock and sales stay in sync without needing an internet connection, and each cashier logs in with their own PIN.
