BelloPOS for your trade
Free supermarket and grocery POS
Scan, total, print. A checkout built for a queue, and a free inventory desktop app behind it.
Free download for Windows · checking the latest release… · works offline

A grocery checkout is measured in items per minute, and every one of them starts with a barcode. BelloPOS works with any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner straight out of the box: scan, and the product, price and tax land in the basket. Products without a barcode get one you print yourself, on labels from the app.
Behind the till it is a full inventory desktop app (stock levels, categories, suppliers and purchase orders), installed on your own PC in Morocco, where the data stays. The free lifetime licence covers checkout, receipts, barcodes and stock, so a small shop can run the whole thing without paying anything.
What you get
Barcode scanner support
Any USB or Bluetooth scanner works with no driver hunt. Scan to sell and scan again to receive a delivery, so stock and shelf agree.
Print your own barcode labels
Loose goods, repacked items and anything that arrived unlabelled get a barcode you generate and print from the app, in the label size you use.
Stock you can trust
Every sale and every purchase moves the count. See what is low before the shelf is empty, and check margins against what you actually paid your supplier.
Fast, offline checkout
Multiple tax rates, several payment methods and a customer screen, all running on the shop's PC, so the queue never waits on a connection.

A POS system for dairies, superettes and grocers
The corner dairy is a New Zealand institution, and it runs on volume: milk, bread, pies, drinks, lollies and phone top-ups, sold one or two at a time from early morning to late at night. BelloPOS turns any Windows PC or Mac into a fast checkout. Plug in a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner and every packaged item scans straight into the sale with its price and GST. Bagged lollies, deli items and anything without a barcode get labels you print from the app. When the connection drops, the till keeps working, because everything is stored on your own computer.
Behind the counter is a full stock system. Each sale takes an item off the count, and deliveries are scanned in against purchase orders, so you see what is running low before the shelf is empty and can check margins against what you actually paid. Superettes and ethnic grocers in Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch can sell to local cafés and restaurants on account, with wholesale price groups applying trade prices automatically. Start on the free Lite plan, then add Pro for a second checkout.
Every way your customers pay, on one till
BelloPOS does not process cards and takes no cut of your sales. Customers pay on your own bank terminal or in cash, and BelloPOS records the payment method so your totals add up at close.
- EFTPOS on your own bank terminal, recorded in one tap
- Contactless payWave and Mastercard contactless
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex where your terminal accepts it)
- Apple Pay and Google Pay through your terminal
- Cash in NZ dollars, with the drawer counted at close
- Customer accounts: let regulars pay at the end of the week or month, with a credit limit
- Bank transfer for invoiced and trade orders
- Split a table's bill between guests (Pro restaurant module)
BelloPOS is not connected to your EFTPOS terminal: you key the amount into the terminal and record the payment in BelloPOS. Your bank or terminal provider sets the card fees.
Dairy and grocery POS questions
Which barcode scanners work?
Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works straight away, with no driver hunting. Scan to sell at the counter and scan again when a delivery arrives, so the shelf count and the system agree. Imported products with foreign barcodes scan the same way once they are in your product list.
Can I sell to cafés and restaurants at trade prices?
Yes. Put trade customers in a wholesale price group and their prices apply automatically at the till. They can buy on account with a credit limit, and you can print an A4 invoice with your GST number and their details for them to pay by bank transfer.
How do I handle items without a barcode?
Create the product in BelloPOS and print your own barcode label, with the name and price, in the label size you use. That works for bagged lollies, repacked rice, deli items and anything that arrives unlabelled from the supplier.
Will it keep working during a power or internet outage?
Internet outages do not affect BelloPOS, because it runs on your own computer or Android tablet. A power cut stops a PC like any till (a tablet keeps running on its battery), but your data stays on its disk, and automatic backups keep an extra copy. Once the power is back, you carry on where you left off.
Can I see what sells and what is running low?
Yes. Sales reports show your best and slowest lines over any period, and stock levels update with every sale and delivery. You can also ask Ares, the built-in AI assistant, in plain English, for example which drinks sold most last weekend.
