Features for New Zealand counters

BelloPOS covers the daily work of a New Zealand counter on one Windows PC or Mac. Ring up sales with a barcode scanner or the product grid, set GST per product, and print receipts and invoices with your business name and GST number. Stock comes down as you sell and goes up when deliveries are scanned in, so you reorder from Bidfood, Gilmours or your local supplier on real numbers. Customer accounts let regulars pay at the end of the week, and wholesale price groups give trade customers their own prices automatically.

Hospo gets its own tools. Pro adds table plans, a kitchen screen on any tablet, and the handheld app so staff can take orders on a phone at the table, all running on the shop's local network without the internet. Ares, the built-in AI assistant, answers questions in plain English, such as last Saturday's sales or what is running low, in the app or on Telegram, using your own AI key. Automatic backups keep a copy of your data safe on your schedule.

What New Zealand businesses use most

Works without the internet

Your data lives on your own computer, so sales, receipts and stock keep moving through fibre outages, power-cut restarts and patchy rural connections. Extra tills and staff phones talk to the main PC over the shop network, not the cloud.

GST on receipts and invoices

Set GST on each product or category and show it on receipts and A4 invoices with your business name and GST number. Export invoices and sales totals for your accountant. BelloPOS does not file GST returns and is not IRD-approved.

Customer accounts and trade prices

Let regulars and local businesses buy on account, set a credit limit and see what each one owes. Wholesale price groups give trade buyers their own prices at the till, with no manual discounting.

Barcodes and labels

Plug in any USB or Bluetooth scanner and start scanning. Print your own barcode labels for bagged lollies, deli items or anything that arrives unlabelled, with the name and price on each one.

Hospo: tables, kitchen and handhelds

Draw your floor plan, send orders to a kitchen screen on any tablet, and let staff take orders on their phones from a browser. Included with Pro, and it all runs on your local network.

How New Zealand businesses use BelloPOS

A dairy in Hamilton

Long hours, one counter and hundreds of small sales: milk, bread, pies, drinks and top-ups. The owner scans everything with a USB barcode scanner, prints labels for the lollies they bag themselves, and sees which lines sell out before the next cash-and-carry run. When the fibre drops on a Sunday night, the till keeps working and nothing has to be written on paper.

A café in Wellington

The 7.30am rush on Lambton Quay wants speed: flat whites, long blacks and a cheese scone, one tap each. Regulars from the office upstairs run a tab settled on Friday. A second till at the cabinet, and the barista's screen showing new orders, both run from one database on the main PC. The owner checks the week's milk use against sales before ordering.

A fish and chip takeaway in Christchurch

Friday night is the peak: phone orders, walk-ins and a queue out the door. Orders go from the counter to the kitchen screen, so the fryer sees each ticket the moment it is taken. Combos and extra scoops of chips are buttons, not sums done in your head, and the end-of-night report splits cash from EFTPOS for the deposit.

An Asian grocer in Auckland

Hundreds of imported lines, many with foreign barcodes, plus restaurants buying rice and sauces by the carton. Retail customers pay the shelf price, while trade buyers in a wholesale price group get their own prices automatically at the till. Deliveries are scanned in against purchase orders, and the restaurant accounts settle by bank transfer against a proper invoice.

Runs anywhere

The part that keeps working when the internet does not.
