BelloPOS for your trade
Free supermarket and grocery POS
Scan, total, print. A checkout built for a queue, and a free inventory desktop app behind it.
Free download for Windows · checking the latest release… · works offline

A grocery checkout is measured in items per minute, and every one of them starts with a barcode. BelloPOS works with any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner straight out of the box: scan, and the product, price and tax land in the basket. Products without a barcode get one you print yourself, on labels from the app.
Behind the till it is a full inventory desktop app (stock levels, categories, suppliers and purchase orders), installed on your own PC in Morocco, where the data stays. The free lifetime licence covers checkout, receipts, barcodes and stock, so a small shop can run the whole thing without paying anything.
What you get
Barcode scanner support
Any USB or Bluetooth scanner works with no driver hunt. Scan to sell and scan again to receive a delivery, so stock and shelf agree.
Print your own barcode labels
Loose goods, repacked items and anything that arrived unlabelled get a barcode you generate and print from the app, in the label size you use.
Stock you can trust
Every sale and every purchase moves the count. See what is low before the shelf is empty, and check margins against what you actually paid your supplier.
Fast, offline checkout
Multiple tax rates, several payment methods and a customer screen, all running on the shop's PC, so the queue never waits on a connection.

Supermarket and provision store software that keeps up with the queue
A provision store or mini-mart lives on small sales: a sachet of milk, a loaf of bread, a bottle of water, a tin of tomato paste. That means busy evenings, thin margins and stock that disappears quietly if nobody is counting. BelloPOS scans barcodes with any USB or Bluetooth scanner, prints labels for goods you repack yourself, and takes each item off the stock count as it sells. Low-stock alerts tell you what to buy before the shelf is empty, and reports show your best sellers by day and by product.
From a provision store in Surulere or Bodija to a supermarket in Wuse 2 or GRA Port Harcourt, the jobs are the same. Go adds customer credit with limits for the regulars who settle at month-end, and wholesale price groups for traders who buy by the carton or bag. Pro lets two or three tills share one stock on busy Saturdays. Each sale records how it was paid, a daily cash count closes the drawer in minutes, and reports per cashier show who sold what before you lock up.
Every way your customers pay
Nigerian customers pay with cash, bank transfer and the POS terminal, often all three in one afternoon. You add the payment methods your shop takes, and each sale in BelloPOS records how it was paid. The money itself still goes through your bank or terminal provider.
- Cash, with change worked out and a cash drawer that opens on the sale
- Bank transfer, recorded as its own method so you can tick each sale against your alerts
- Card and transfer on your own POS terminal from Moniepoint, Opay, PalmPay or your bank
- USSD and QR payments, recorded under the method you name
- Any other method you take, added by you in a few clicks
- Customer credit, where regulars buy now and pay at month-end, in Go and above
- A daily cash count at closing, the drawer checked against the day's sales
BelloPOS does not connect to POS terminals or bank accounts and cannot confirm that a transfer has arrived. Check the alert as usual, then record the payment in BelloPOS.
Supermarket and provision store questions
Can I run a small provision store on the free plan?
Yes. Lite covers selling, receipts, barcodes and stock on one till, for free and for good. Many small shops start with a used laptop, a cheap scanner and a 58 mm printer. When you want customer credit, wholesale prices or automatic backups, move to Go. You keep all your products and sales when you upgrade.
How do I handle VAT on food items?
BelloPOS does not calculate or file VAT for you; its receipts are sales records. The Nigeria Tax Act lists which items are zero-rated, and small businesses may not need to charge VAT at all, so confirm your products and your status with your accountant. BelloPOS keeps your sales by product and by day, which makes that work easier. It is not an approved fiscalisation solution.
Many of my products have no barcode. What do I do?
Create the product, let BelloPOS give it a code and print your own barcode labels on a label or receipt printer. That works for goods you bag yourself, such as rice, beans, garri or sugar in small packs. Items without a label can also be tapped from a grid of buttons on the screen, so the queue keeps moving.
Can traders buy at wholesale prices?
Yes, with Go. Create a wholesale price group, set the trade price for each product, and put each trader in the group. When you choose that customer at the till, the trade price appears automatically. Walk-in customers keep paying the retail price, and your report shows both kinds of sales.
Does it help stop stock from going missing?
It makes losses visible. Every sale, delivery and manual change is recorded, and with Go the activity log shows which user did what and when. Compare the stock count in BelloPOS with what is on the shelf, and differences stand out quickly instead of at the end of the year.
