POS system features that suit an Australian counter

An Australian counter mixes GST-free and taxable items, cash and tap and go, regulars on account and trade customers on special prices. BelloPOS handles all of it on the PC or Mac you already have. Set the tax on each product and the GST lands correctly in every sale. Scan any barcode with a USB or Bluetooth scanner, and print your own labels for products that arrive without one. Receipts carry your business name and ABN, and invoices can be exported when a customer asks.

It keeps working when the NBN does not. Sales, stock, receipts and reports are saved on your own computer, and on Pro several tills in one shop share data over your local network with no internet needed. Ares, the AI assistant, answers plain questions such as "what sold best this week?" or "who owes me money?" in the app or on Telegram. Payments stay on your own EFTPOS terminal, so BelloPOS never touches your merchant fees.

Highlights for Australian businesses

GST set per product

Give each product its own tax setting, so 10% GST items and GST-free items such as basic food can share one basket. Receipts and reports show the GST collected, which makes BAS time easier for you and your accountant. Check your settings with them when you set up.

Works offline, always

BelloPOS runs on your own computer, not in someone else's cloud. If the NBN drops out mid-service, you keep selling, printing receipts and updating stock. Several tills on the same local network stay in sync on Pro, with no internet involved.

Barcodes and shelf labels

Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works as soon as it is plugged in. Generate codes for loose goods, home-made items and imports without a local barcode, then print labels several to a sheet on a normal printer or a label printer.

Customer accounts and trade prices

Let regulars and local businesses buy on account, set a credit limit and see what each one owes. Wholesale price groups give trade customers, such as cafés buying from a grocer, their own prices automatically at the till.

Done-for-you setup

Pro and Pro+ include the Ready-to-Sell Pack: we install BelloPOS, connect your printer and scanner, add your products and train your staff remotely. You start trading with a working till, not a blank screen and a help centre.

How Australian businesses use BelloPOS

A café in Fitzroy, Melbourne

The morning rush is flat whites, long blacks and banana bread. The top sellers sit on the front grid, so each order is a couple of taps before the customer taps their card on the EFTPOS terminal. Tables in the courtyard run as open tabs, takeaway pays straight away, and the milk and beans come off stock as they sell. At close, the drawer is counted against what the till recorded.

A milk bar in Marrickville, Sydney

Drinks, chips, bread, milk and the odd newspaper go through one counter, some taxable and some GST-free. Every barcode is scanned, and loose lollies and home-made sausage rolls get labels printed from the app. The owner pays once for the licence instead of a monthly fee, and the shop keeps trading if the NBN drops out, because everything runs on the PC behind the counter.

An Asian grocer in Sunnybank, Brisbane

Thousands of imported products, many without local barcodes, are labelled in-house and scanned at two registers that share one stock count. Deliveries are scanned in against the supplier's order, and restaurants buying in bulk get wholesale price groups and pay on account. Ares, the AI assistant, answers questions like "what is low on stock?" before the weekend.

A bakery in Norwood, Adelaide

Bread and rolls are GST-free, while coffee and anything eaten at the window bench include GST, so each item is set up with the right tax from day one. Pies and pasties are sold from the counter grid, the receipt carries the business name and ABN, and the owner exports the month's sales for the bookkeeper before the BAS is due.

Runs anywhere
