BelloPOS for your trade
Free supermarket and grocery POS
Scan, total, print. A checkout built for a queue, and a free inventory desktop app behind it.
Free download for Windows · checking the latest release… · works offline

A grocery checkout is measured in items per minute, and every one of them starts with a barcode. BelloPOS works with any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner straight out of the box: scan, and the product, price and tax land in the basket. Products without a barcode get one you print yourself, on labels from the app.
Behind the till it is a full inventory desktop app (stock levels, categories, suppliers and purchase orders), installed on your own PC in Morocco, where the data stays. The free lifetime licence covers checkout, receipts, barcodes and stock, so a small shop can run the whole thing without paying anything.
What you get
Barcode scanner support
Any USB or Bluetooth scanner works with no driver hunt. Scan to sell and scan again to receive a delivery, so stock and shelf agree.
Print your own barcode labels
Loose goods, repacked items and anything that arrived unlabelled get a barcode you generate and print from the app, in the label size you use.
Stock you can trust
Every sale and every purchase moves the count. See what is low before the shelf is empty, and check margins against what you actually paid your supplier.
Fast, offline checkout
Multiple tax rates, several payment methods and a customer screen, all running on the shop's PC, so the queue never waits on a connection.

A grocery POS system for independent Australian grocers
Independent grocers, milk bars, convenience stores and Asian or continental grocers in Australia live on a fast checkout and a reliable stock count. BelloPOS works with any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner, so every scan brings up the product, price and tax setting. Imported goods without a local barcode, repacked items and anything made in-house get a code and a label printed from the app. Each product carries its own GST setting, so bread, milk and fresh produce sit GST-free in the same basket as soft drinks, snacks and household items that include GST. The receipt shows your business name and ABN.
Behind the checkout, BelloPOS is a full inventory app. Scan deliveries in against your supplier's order, see what is running low before the weekend, and check margins against what you actually paid. Two or more registers can share one stock count over your local network on Pro, and cafés or restaurants buying from you can get wholesale price groups and pay on account. It all runs on your own computer, so the shop keeps trading if the NBN drops out, and the licence can be paid once instead of every month.
Every way Australians pay, recorded in one till
BelloPOS does not process cards and takes no cut of your sales. Customers pay on the EFTPOS terminal you already have from your bank or provider, or in cash, and you record each payment in BelloPOS so the day's totals add up.
- EFTPOS debit cards on your existing terminal
- Tap and go: contactless cards, phones and watches (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay)
- Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards
- Cash, with a cash drawer that opens on payment and a counted close at the end of the shift
- Split payments, for example part cash and part card
- Buy now pay later (such as Afterpay or Zip) taken through the provider, then recorded as its own payment method
- Bank transfer or PayID for trade and wholesale accounts
- Customer credit: let regulars buy on account, set a limit and see what each one owes
Because the card is processed by your own terminal, your merchant fees stay with your bank or provider. Key the amount into the terminal, then record the payment in BelloPOS.
Grocery POS questions from Australian shop owners
Can one sale mix GST-free and taxable items?
Yes. Each product has its own tax setting, so basic food such as bread, milk and fruit can be GST-free while soft drinks, confectionery and household goods include GST, all in one basket. The receipt and the day's report show the GST collected. The ATO has a detailed food list, and your accountant can confirm the setting for any item you are unsure about.
Which barcode scanners work?
Practically all of them. USB and Bluetooth scanners act like a keyboard, so they work as soon as they are plugged in, with no special model or driver. Use the same scanner to sell, to receive deliveries and to find a product in inventory. Barcode scanning is included in the free Lite plan.
What about products without a barcode?
Generate a barcode for the product in BelloPOS and print labels several to a sheet, on a normal printer or a label printer, in the size you already buy. This suits imported goods without a local code, repacked bulk items, and home-made products such as sausage rolls or cakes.
Do we have to accept cash?
Since 1 January 2026, larger grocery and fuel retailers must accept cash for in-person purchases of $500 or less during set hours. Small businesses under the turnover threshold are generally exempt unless they trade under a larger retailer's brand. Check the Treasury rules or ask your accountant. Either way, BelloPOS records cash, card and split payments side by side.
Can we run more than one register?
Yes, with Pro. One computer acts as the server on your shop's local network, and other registers connect to it, sharing products, prices and the stock count with no internet needed. Pro also includes the done-for-you setup: we install BelloPOS, add your products and train your staff.
