Features that fit the Ethiopian counter

Every BelloPOS feature runs on the computer in your shop, so the counter keeps moving when the network is slow or the internet is cut. Sell from a touch screen or a keyboard, scan barcodes with any USB or Bluetooth scanner, open the cash drawer and print receipts on a 58 mm or 80 mm printer with your shop name, sub-city and phone number in the header. Stock goes down with each sale and up with each delivery, every movement is kept in the history, and low-stock alerts tell you what to reorder.

The paid plans add what Ethiopian traders ask for most. Go brings dubie accounts with limits and statements, wholesale price groups for suks, hotels and offices, purchase orders, sales export to PDF and scheduled backups. Pro adds tables and kitchen printing for cafés and restaurants, extra tills on your shop network and a phone app for waiters. Ares, the AI assistant, answers questions like which items sold best today. BelloPOS is not an MoR-accredited machine, so fiscal receipts stay with your accredited system.

Highlights for Ethiopian businesses

Keeps selling offline

Sales, stock, receipts and reports all run on your own PC or Mac. When the internet is cut or mobile data is slow, the counter carries on. Put the PC, router and printer on a UPS and you also trade through power cuts. Only Ares AI and plan activation need a connection.

Cash, telebirr and bank on every sale

Add the payment methods your shop takes and choose one on each sale, so every sale shows how it was paid. At closing, count the drawer against the day's sales and check telebirr, CBE Birr and bank transfer sales against their statements.

Dubie accounts instead of the book

Regulars who take goods on credit get a proper account in Go: a limit checked at the till, a ledger of every purchase and payment, and a printable statement at month-end. No more lost dubie books or arguments over what is owed.

Wholesale and retail from one stock

Give suks, hotels, offices and contractors their own price group in Go. Pick the customer at the till and the right price appears, while walk-in buyers pay the shelf price. Cartons, sacks and single units come from the same product list.

Staff logins and stock checks

Each cashier or waiter signs in as themselves, and roles decide who can void, discount or open the drawer. Go adds an activity log, and stock counts show the gap between the system and the shelf, which matters for high-value lines such as oil, coffee and drinks.

How Ethiopian businesses use BelloPOS

Minimarket in CMC, Addis Ababa

A minimarket with about 1,000 items scans everything at one till and prints labels for the rice, sugar and lentils it repacks. Deliveries from wholesalers in Merkato are booked in against the order, and the low-stock list shows what to buy before the weekend. Neighbours who pay at month-end have dubie accounts with limits. Tax receipts still come from the shop's accredited sales register machine.

Café and pastry shop in Bole, Addis Ababa

On Pro, the café runs a counter till, a kitchen printer and waiters' phones over its own Wi-Fi. Macchiato, buna and pastry orders go from the table to the bar at once, and each table keeps its own bill. Coffee, milk and flour come off stock as they sell. The receipt the customer must receive is issued by the café's accredited machine.

Wholesale and retail shop in Kezira, Dire Dawa

The shop sells by the carton to small suks and by the piece to walk-in buyers. With Go, each suk owner gets a wholesale price group and a credit account with a statement, so the owner knows who owes what before releasing more stock. Purchase orders track goods arriving from Addis Ababa, and Ares reports which lines move slowest.

Building materials shop in Bahir Dar

Contractors and individual builders buy cement, paint and fittings from the same counter at different prices. Contractors get a trade price group and a credit limit in Go, and every purchase and payment goes into their ledger. Each salesperson logs in with their own account, and only the owner can void a sale or change a price.

Runs anywhere
