Free POS for stationery and school supply shops

For a stationery shop, September is the year: parents with long lists, dozens of small items per basket, and a queue out the door. BelloPOS rings up notebooks, pens and geometry sets by barcode or by tap, totals the list in seconds and prints the ticket, on your shop's Windows PC or Mac, with no internet needed.

Choose "School supplies" at setup and the demo database is filled with notebooks, writing tools, bags, geometry and stationery, in your language and currency. Print your own barcode labels for loose pens and erasers, and let stock alerts tell you which items to reorder before the rush peaks.

What you get

Long lists, fast

Scan or tap each item and change quantities on the keypad: twelve notebooks are one line, not twelve taps.

Labels for small items

Print barcode labels for pens, erasers and anything sold loose, so the counter can scan everything.

Ready for the peak

Minimum stock levels warn you before the best-selling notebooks run out in the middle of September.

Schools and businesses on account

Keep schools or offices as customers, issue a proper invoice and follow what each one still owes.

How Ethiopia pays, and how you record it

BelloPOS does not process payments and is not connected to telebirr, CBE Birr, M-Pesa, banks or card machines. The customer pays the way they always do, and you pick the payment method on the sale in BelloPOS, so every sale shows how it was paid. You can add your own payment methods to match how your shop gets paid.

Cash in birr, with change shown on screen and a cash drawer
telebirr, recorded as its own payment method
CBE Birr and transfers from bank mobile apps, each added as a payment method
M-Pesa Ethiopia and other mobile wallets
Bank cards on your bank's own POS terminal, where you have one
Any other method you take, added by you in a few clicks
Credit (dubie) for regulars, settled at month-end or on salary day (Go plan)
Accounts settled later by bank transfer for hotels, offices and NGOs (Go plan)

Because BelloPOS does not read your telebirr or bank statements, check the sales recorded under each method against the wallet or bank statement at closing. A gap usually means a payment was recorded under the wrong method.

Questions merchants ask

Can I sell items that have no barcode?

Yes. Put them on the product grid or print your own barcode labels from BelloPOS.

Is there a demo catalogue for school supplies?

Yes. At setup choose "Try with demo data", then "School supplies", and the catalogue is created in your language and currency.

Does it work offline?

Yes, entirely. The data lives on your own PC, so the busiest week of the year never depends on the connection.
