EPOS features that fit a UK shop floor

A UK till has to cope with a busy lunchtime queue, a mix of contactless and cash, products on different VAT rates and a broadband line that drops at the wrong moment. BelloPOS puts the whole checkout on the computer in your shop: a touch grid for quick sales, barcode scanning, several open baskets at once, a cash drawer with float and counted close, and receipts printed on standard 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printers with your own business name, address and VAT number in the header.

Behind the till sits a full stock control app rather than a quantity field. You add products with cost and sale prices, print shelf and barcode labels, set low-stock alerts and record deliveries from suppliers or the cash and carry, so stock rises automatically. Reports show daily takings, best sellers, margins and totals by payment method and by member of staff. When your accountant asks for the month, print the reports or export the figures and send them over.

What UK businesses use most

Works when the broadband does not

Sales, receipts, stock and reports all run on your own PC or Mac. If the connection goes, the till keeps working and there is nothing to sync before you can sell again. Extra tills and waiters' phones in Pro talk to the main computer over your shop's local network.

VAT rate on every product

Give each product its VAT rate and BelloPOS works out the tax on the sale, shows it on the receipt and includes it in your reports. Trade customers who ask for a VAT invoice get a numbered PDF invoice with their details, available from BelloPOS Go.

X and Z reports at close

Open each session with a float, record cash in and out, and close against the counted drawer. X and Z reports give the day's takings split by cash, card and other methods, ready to check against your card terminal's summary and to keep with your records.

Barcodes and price labels

Plug in any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner and start scanning. Print barcode labels with the product name and price for items that arrive without a barcode, so the shelf price and the till price always match.

Tables, kitchen screen and handheld orders

Pro adds a table plan, split bills, a kitchen screen on any tablet or phone browser and a handheld app for taking orders at the table. Orders reach the kitchen as soon as they are sent, with no paper tickets to lose during a busy Friday night.

How UK businesses use BelloPOS

A café in Leeds

A two-person café near the station serves coffee, toasties and cakes, eat in or take away. Best sellers sit on the first page of the touch grid, so the morning queue moves quickly. Each product carries its own VAT rate, the card machine handles contactless, and the Z report at close shows cash and card takings side by side. When the café adds a second till, Pro links both to one database.

A corner shop in Birmingham

An independent convenience store stocks around two thousand lines, from milk to phone top-up cards. Every item is scanned with a USB barcode scanner, so prices are right at the till, and low-stock alerts flag what to reorder from the cash and carry. Purchases raise stock automatically in Go. When the broadband drops on a Saturday afternoon, the shop keeps selling without a pause.

A takeaway in Glasgow

A family-run takeaway takes orders at the counter and over the phone. With Pro, the kitchen sees each order on a tablet as soon as it is rung in, so nothing is lost on paper slips. Hot and cold items can carry different VAT rates, set per product after a word with the accountant. Delivery orders are tagged with their delivery company in Go.

A gift shop in Bristol

An independent gift and homeware shop sells local crafts alongside its own branded range. The owner prints barcode labels with name and price for every product, sees best sellers and margins by month, and keeps a list of regular customers. A few trade buyers get their own price group with wholesale prices, and each receives a numbered PDF invoice from BelloPOS Go.
