EPOS pricing in pounds, without a long contract
Many UK EPOS deals tie you to a 12, 24 or 36-month agreement, with software, hardware rental and card processing on one bill. BelloPOS keeps those things apart. The software runs on the PC or Mac you already own, you buy your printer and scanner wherever you like, and your card machine stays with your current provider. Prices on this page are shown in pounds sterling, and you choose how to pay: a lifetime licence paid once, a monthly key, or a yearly key that gives you two months free.
Lite costs nothing and has no time limit. Go suits a shop with one till that wants more staff accounts, customer credit, wholesale prices, PDF invoices and automatic backups. Pro adds several tills in one shop, the restaurant module with tables and a kitchen screen, the handheld cashier app and reports by Telegram or email, plus the Ready-to-Sell Pack, where we set everything up for you remotely. Pro+ includes the most setup help and can be split into two interest-free payments.
How customers pay in the UK, and how BelloPOS records it
Cards now make up the large majority of UK payments, with debit cards alone accounting for more than half and cash down to around one payment in twelve, according to UK Finance. Your till has to record every one of these correctly.

BelloPOS does not take card payments itself and is not connected to a card machine. You keep your own terminal from your bank or payment provider, take the payment there, and select the payment method in BelloPOS so your reports split cash and card correctly.
UK tax and record-keeping points every till owner should know
An EPOS system does not make you compliant on its own, but it should make the paperwork easier. These are the official HMRC and government rules most relevant to shops, cafés and restaurants, with a link to the source for each.
VAT registration at £90,000
You must register for VAT if your taxable turnover over the last 12 months goes above £90,000, or if you expect it to go over in the next 30 days alone. Below the threshold you can register voluntarily. BelloPOS lets you set a VAT rate on each product, so your till prices and reports are ready either way.
Making Tax Digital for VAT
All VAT-registered businesses must keep VAT records and file VAT Returns using software compatible with Making Tax Digital. BelloPOS is not MTD software and does not file returns: export your sales figures and hand them to your bookkeeping software or accountant, who submits the return to HMRC.
Keep VAT records for at least 6 years
HMRC generally expects VAT business records to be kept for at least 6 years. Retailers using a VAT retail scheme must keep a digital record of daily gross takings, while till rolls and Z readings behind it must still be kept. BelloPOS keeps your sales history and X/Z reports on your own computer, and Go adds automatic backups.
VAT invoices on request, simplified up to £250
VAT-registered retailers should give a customer a VAT invoice if asked for one, and you do not need to issue VAT invoices to customers who are not VAT registered. For supplies of £250 or less, a simplified invoice is allowed if the conditions are met. BelloPOS Go turns a sale into a numbered PDF invoice for trade customers.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
Sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 must use Making Tax Digital for Income Tax from 6 April 2026, with the threshold due to fall to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028. Qualifying income is gross turnover, not profit. You will need MTD-compatible software; BelloPOS gives you the sales totals to feed it.
Show clear prices, including VAT
The Price Marking Order 2004 requires goods sold to consumers to show a selling price in writing, including VAT, and in many cases a unit price such as per kilo or per litre. BelloPOS prints barcode labels with the product name and price, which helps keep shelf prices in line with the till.
BelloPOS is not certified, accredited or recognised by HMRC or any other UK body, it is not Making Tax Digital software, and it does not process card payments. Pricing questions from UK customers
Do your prices include VAT?
No. Prices exclude VAT. BelloPOS is sold and invoiced by a US company, so we do not add UK VAT to the invoice. If your business is VAT registered, you will normally account for VAT yourself under the reverse charge. How this applies to your business, including if you are not VAT registered, is something to confirm with your accountant.
Is there a monthly fee?
Only if you choose one. Go, Pro and Pro+ are sold as a lifetime licence with no monthly fee, or as monthly or yearly keys paid in advance. Keys do not renew automatically, so nothing is taken from your account without you asking. When a key ends there is a 14-day grace period, then BelloPOS continues as Lite with all your data, and you can move to a lifetime licence at any time.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. There is no 12, 24 or 36-month agreement, no hardware lease and no card processing contract tied to the software. A lifetime licence is yours to keep. A monthly or yearly key covers only the period you have paid for. You can stay on the free Lite plan for as long as you like, and upgrade only when the business needs it.
Do I pay extra for card transactions?
Not to us. BelloPOS does not process payments, so we take no percentage of your sales. Card fees are charged by whoever provides your card machine, under your agreement with them. You take the payment on your terminal and record it in BelloPOS, which keeps your cash and card takings separate in your reports.
How do I buy, and how do I pay?
Send us a message on WhatsApp with the plan you want. We confirm the price in pounds, arrange payment and email your activation key, which you type into the app. Every purchase comes with an invoice. Pro+ can be split into two interest-free payments, agreed with you in advance.
