BelloPOS for your trade
Free POS for cafes and coffee shops
Counter, terrace and takeaway: a till fast enough for the morning rush, free to start with.
Free download for Windows · checking the latest release… · works offline

Coffee is a volume trade: the queue at 8am judges your till by how few taps it takes to ring a cortado and a croissant. BelloPOS puts your regulars' orders one press away, keeps the terrace tables open alongside the counter, and prints the ticket while the cup is still being made.
It runs offline on an ordinary Windows PC or Mac, so a dropped connection never turns into a paper-and-pen morning. The free lifetime licence covers everything a counter needs (sales, receipts, stock and printer setup), which makes it a real free point of sale for a cafe in Morocco, not a trial that expires.
What you get
Built for the rush
Favourite items sit on the front grid, so the drinks you sell hundreds of times a day are a single tap. Take the next order while the last one prints.
Counter, terrace and takeaway together
Keep open tabs for the terrace while walk-ups pay immediately at the counter, and tell the two apart at the end of the day.
Receipt printer and cash drawer
Connect a thermal receipt printer and a cash drawer that opens on payment. Tickets carry your own header, and a shift close counts the drawer against what the till recorded.
Stock that follows the counter
Beans, milk, syrups and pastries come off stock as they sell, so you order on real numbers instead of a guess on Sunday night.

A till system for Irish cafés and coffee shops
From a specialty roaster in Dublin 8 to a family café on a Kilkenny high street, the morning rush is won or lost at the till. BelloPOS puts your coffees, teas, scones and toasties on the front grid, so a cappuccino, a cortado and a ham and cheese toastie are three taps and a receipt. Milk alternatives and extra shots become quick add-ons, and regulars can run a tab on customer credit. When lunch moves to table service, the Pro plan opens a tab per table and sends hot food orders to the kitchen screen or printer.
The July 2026 VAT change matters for cafés. Revenue moved restaurant and catering services and hot takeaway food to the 9% rate, while bottled water, soft drinks and some juices stay at the standard rate. BelloPOS holds the VAT rate on each product, so a mixed order is taxed line by line and the Z report shows takings by rate. Stock follows every sale, so you see how much milk, beans and bakery you go through each week, and it all works offline on the PC or Mac behind your counter.
Every way your customers pay, recorded on one till
Cards and phones now dominate at Irish counters, but cash, accounts and invoices still matter. BelloPOS records each sale against the payment method used, so your cashing-up and reports add up.
- Cash, with the drawer opening on the sale and a counted close at the end of the shift
- Debit cards, keyed into your own card machine and recorded as card
- Credit cards, taken on your card machine and logged against the sale
- Contactless cards and phone wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, through your terminal
- Customer credit: let regulars or local businesses run an account and settle later
- Bank transfer for business customers who pay against a numbered invoice
- Mixed payments, part cash and part card, so the report still balances
- Split bills between guests at a table, with the restaurant module on Pro
BelloPOS does not process card payments and is not connected to card terminals. Keep the card machine you have from your bank or your payment provider, enter the amount on it, and record the sale as card in BelloPOS.
Café EPOS questions
Can BelloPOS handle eat-in and takeaway at different VAT rates?
BelloPOS lets you set the VAT rate on each product, and you can create separate items where a different rate applies. Since 1 July 2026, Revenue applies the 9% rate to restaurant services and hot takeaway food, while cold takeaway food and some drinks are treated differently. The rules on which rate applies are detailed, so set up your menu with your accountant using Revenue's guidance.
Is it fast enough for the morning queue?
Yes. Your best sellers sit on the front grid, modifiers such as oat milk or an extra shot are one tap, and the receipt prints straight away. Because everything runs on your own machine, there is no lag waiting for a cloud server. A second till or a handheld for the terrace comes with Pro, so you can take orders and payment in more than one place.
Do I need to change my card machine?
No. BelloPOS is not connected to card terminals and does not process payments. Keep the card machine you have, key the amount in, and record the sale as card in BelloPOS. Your end-of-day report shows cash and card separately, so you can check it against the terminal's own end-of-day total when cashing up.
Can I see which cakes and bakes actually make money?
Yes. Enter the cost of each item and BelloPOS reports the margin per product, your best sellers and what sits unsold. That helps when deciding whether to keep baking in-house or buy in from a local bakery, and when you price a new seasonal drink. The Ares AI assistant can also answer plain questions about your sales.
What does it cost for a small café?
You can start on the free Lite plan with checkout, receipts and stock. For tables, a second till, the kitchen screen and a done-for-you setup, Pro is the usual choice, bought once or by the month with no automatic renewal. Prices are shown in euro on the pricing page and exclude VAT, and there is a 7-day free Pro trial in the app.
