Features that fit the Ugandan counter

Every BelloPOS feature runs on the computer in your shop, so the counter keeps moving when the data bundle runs out or the network is down. Sell from a touch screen or a keyboard, scan barcodes with any USB or Bluetooth scanner, open the cash drawer and print receipts on a 58 mm or 80 mm printer with your shop name, location and phone number in the header. Stock goes down with each sale and up with each delivery, every movement is kept in the history, and low-stock alerts tell you what to reorder.

The paid plans add what Ugandan traders ask for most. Go brings credit accounts with limits and statements, wholesale price groups for retailers, schools and hotels, purchase orders, sales export to PDF and scheduled backups. Pro adds tables and kitchen printing for restaurants and bars, extra tills on your shop network and a phone app for waiters and attendants. Ares, the AI assistant, answers questions like which items sold best today. EFRIS e-receipts and e-invoices are not part of BelloPOS and stay with your URA EFRIS solution.

Highlights for Ugandan businesses

Keeps selling offline

Sales, stock, receipts and reports all run on your own PC or Mac. When the internet drops or the bundle runs out, the counter carries on. Put the PC and printer on a UPS and you also trade through power cuts. Only Ares AI and plan activation need a connection.

Cash, MoMo and Airtel Money on every sale

Add the payment methods your shop takes and choose one on each sale, so every sale shows how it was paid. At closing, count the drawer against the day's sales and check MoMo and Airtel Money sales against your merchant statements.

Credit accounts instead of the book

Regulars who take goods on credit get a proper account in Go: a limit checked at the till, a ledger of every purchase and payment, and a printable statement at month-end. No more torn exercise books or arguments over what is owed.

Wholesale and retail from one stock

Give retailers from upcountry, schools, hotels and contractors their own price group in Go. Pick the customer at the till and the right price appears, while walk-in buyers pay the shelf price. Cartons, dozens and single pieces come from the same product list.

Staff logins and stock checks

Each cashier or barman signs in as themselves, and roles decide who can void, discount or open the drawer. Go adds an activity log, and stock counts show the gap between the system and the shelf, which matters for high-value lines such as spirits, phones and cooking oil.

How Ugandan businesses use BelloPOS

Supermarket in Ntinda, Kampala

A neighbourhood supermarket with about 2,000 items runs two tills on Pro and scans everything. Sugar, rice and posho repacked into smaller bags get printed barcode labels. Deliveries from Kikuubo wholesalers are booked in against the order, and the low-stock list shows what to buy before the weekend. The owner, who is VAT-registered, issues EFRIS e-invoices through the URA desktop client.

Sports bar in Jinja

Beer, Uganda Waragi and spirits are the most valuable stock, so every crate and bottle is scanned in and out. Each barman logs in with their own account, only the manager can void a sale, and tables keep a running bill on Pro while waiters add rounds from their phones. On match nights, the manager counts the drawer at closing and checks what each staff member sold.

Hardware shop in Mbarara

Builders, fundis and walk-in customers buy cement, iron sheets and nails at different prices from one counter. With Go, contractors get a trade price group and a credit account with a statement, so the owner knows who owes what before releasing more goods. Purchase orders track stock coming from Kampala, and Ares reports which lines are moving slowest.

Beauty and cosmetics shop in Mbale

A shop selling cosmetics, hair products and toiletries tracks hundreds of small items by barcode and sees which brands actually sell. Salons in town buy at a wholesale price group on Go, and regulars take goods on a credit account with a limit and settle later. The power goes off often, so the laptop and receipt printer sit on a small UPS and sales never stop.

Runs anywhere

The part that keeps working when the internet does not.
