Features that fit the South African counter

Every BelloPOS feature runs on the computer in your shop, so nothing depends on fibre, LTE or a cloud server during load shedding. Sell from a touch screen or a keyboard, scan barcodes with any USB or Bluetooth scanner, open the cash drawer and print till slips on a 58 mm or 80 mm printer. Set the VAT rate on each product, including zero-rated staples, and your shop name, address and VAT number print at the top of every slip. Stock goes down with each sale and up with each delivery.

The paid plans add the tools South African traders ask for most. Go brings the account book for regulars who pay at month-end, with credit limits and statements, plus trade price groups for builders, caterers and resellers, purchase orders, numbered invoices and scheduled backups. Pro adds tables and kitchen printing for restaurants and takeaways, extra tills on your shop network and a phone app for waiters and floor staff. Ares, the AI assistant, answers questions like how much you sold today in plain English.

Highlights for South African businesses

Keeps selling offline

Sales, stock, slips and reports all run on your own PC. When the internet drops during load shedding or a cable theft, the till carries on. Add a UPS for the PC and printer, and you trade straight through the outage, then carry on as normal when the power returns.

Till slips with your VAT number

Choose your slip header: shop name, address, phone and VAT number. Set a VAT rate on each product, including 0% for zero-rated basics, and the slip shows the VAT. Go adds numbered invoices with the customer's details, exportable as PDF for your accountant.

The account book, done properly

Regulars who buy on credit and pay at month-end get a real account in Go: a credit limit checked at the till, a ledger of every purchase and payment, and a printable statement. No more torn exercise books or arguments over what is owed.

Trade and wholesale prices

Give builders, caterers, tuck shop owners and resellers their own price group in Go. Pick the customer at the till and the right price appears automatically, while walk-in customers pay the normal shelf price. One product list serves both counters.

More tills and waiters' phones

Pro links several tills, a kitchen printer or screen and staff phones to one main PC over your shop's own Wi-Fi. Waiters take orders at the table, the kitchen sees them at once, and it all keeps working when the internet is down.

How South African businesses use BelloPOS

A spaza shop in Soweto

Bread, airtime, cold drinks and loose sweets all day long, with cash on the counter and a card machine for the rest. The owner scans what has a barcode and prints labels for what does not. Regulars buy on the book and settle on payday, with Go tracking each balance. When load shedding hits, a small UPS keeps the laptop and slip printer going, and selling carries on.

A bunny chow takeaway in Durban

Lunch rush, phone orders and a queue out the door. With Pro, the counter sends each order to a kitchen printer, staff take orders at the tables from their own phones, and split bills take seconds. Every sale is saved on the PC in the shop, so a fibre outage on Florida Road never stops service. The owner checks the day's best sellers each night.

A hardware store in Pretoria

Builders and walk-in customers want different prices. BelloPOS Go keeps a trade price group for contractors, so the right price appears when their account is picked at the till. Cement, screws and paint are scanned in from supplier deliveries against purchase orders, and low-stock alerts flag what to reorder. Numbered invoices with the store's VAT number print for the builders who need them.

A clothing boutique in Cape Town

Sizes, colours and seasonal stock make counting by hand slow. The owner prints barcode labels for every item, sells on a laptop near the fitting rooms and sees which lines move on the best-seller report. Tourists tap their cards on the shop's card machine, locals pay with SnapScan, and each payment is recorded by method so the cash-up matches at closing.

Runs anywhere

The part that keeps working when the internet does not.
