POS billing features that fit an Indian counter

A good billing screen in India has to cope with a queue at 7 pm, a mix of branded and repacked goods, three ways to pay and customers who will settle next week. BelloPOS keeps the item grid and the barcode scanner on the same screen, so packed goods scan and repacked items like sugar or dry fruits get their own printed label. Each bill records how it was paid, cash, UPI, card or udhaar. Everything runs on your own computer, so billing speed does not depend on your internet connection.

Behind the counter, the same software keeps the shop in order. Stock falls with every bill and rises with every purchase from your distributor. Low-stock alerts warn you before a fast seller runs out. Udhaar customers have a proper ledger instead of a notebook. Trade buyers get their own price group. Reports show the day's sales by product, by counter and by staff member, and the Ares AI assistant answers questions like "how much did we sell today?" in plain words.

Five features Indian shop owners use most

Daily cash count and clear reports

Count the drawer at closing against the day's sales, and see what sold by day, by product and by cashier. BelloPOS does not file returns, issue tax invoices or generate e-invoices; it keeps clear sales records your CA can work from.

Udhaar ledger with credit limits

Every regular customer gets an account. Unpaid bills add to the balance, payments reduce it, and corrections are recorded, never overwritten. Set a limit per customer and print a statement with dates and amounts when it is time to settle. Included from the Go plan.

Barcode billing and printed labels

Any USB or Bluetooth scanner works out of the box. Items without a barcode, such as repacked rice, loose spices or local products, get labels you print from the app with name and price, so even unbranded goods scan in a second at the counter.

Multiple counters and a handheld app

With Pro, add extra billing counters, kitchen screens and waiter phones that link to one main PC over your shop's own network. Staff can take orders at the table or bill from the aisle on a phone, and everything lands in the same stock and sales records.

Works offline, backs up safely

Bills, stock and reports live on your own Windows PC or Mac, so billing keeps going through internet outages. With Go and above, schedule backups so a failed hard disk or a stolen laptop does not take years of sales and udhaar records with it.

How Indian shops use BelloPOS

A kirana store in Pune

A family-run kirana in Kothrud stocks around two thousand items, from Parle-G to packs of dal and rice repacked in the shop. Packed goods are scanned, repacked items get printed barcode labels, and regular households buy on udhaar with a monthly limit. At night the owner counts the cash drawer against the day's sales, then sees which brands are running low before the distributor's salesman calls.

A South Indian restaurant in Bengaluru

A busy darshini-style restaurant in Jayanagar runs two billing counters and a dine-in hall upstairs. Captains take orders on their phones, orders print as KOTs in the kitchen, and the cashier closes each table's bill when the guests are done. The owner reviews best-selling dishes and per-counter totals every evening, and the billing keeps going when the broadband drops at lunch.

A stationery wholesaler in Delhi

A stationery shop in Chawri Bazar sells to walk-in students at retail price and to schools and small shops at trade price. With price groups, the right rate appears as soon as the buyer is selected. Trade customers get a credit account with a dated statement, and outstanding balances are tracked on each customer's account until the cheque or NEFT arrives. Any GST tax invoices are handled as the shop's CA advises.

A mobile accessories shop in Hyderabad

A phone accessories store near Koti handles chargers, cases, screen guards and earphones in dozens of models. Every item carries a barcode, so billing is a scan and stock falls automatically. Low-stock alerts show which fast-moving cables to reorder from Mumbai suppliers, and the owner asks the Ares AI assistant on his phone how much the shop sold today.

Runs anywhere

The part that keeps working when the internet does not.
